SA Yorkie Rescue ("SAYR", "we", "us") operates sayr.co.za as a free information and guidance hub for Yorkie adoption and surrender in South Africa. This page explains what personal data our pages collect, why, and how it is handled.

What we collect, and why

Small dog surrender formSubmitting /rehome-a-small-dog/ shares your name, email, phone number, city, and your dog's details (name, temperament, health, behaviour) with our intake system, so the rescue team can contact you about rehoming.
Yorkie surrender applicationBefore you reach the official Yorkie surrender form, /start-yorkie-surrender/ generates a random application reference and records which page or campaign link led you there. No personal details are captured on sayr.co.za at this step — your name, contact details and Yorkie's information go directly into the official form.
Email sign-upSubscribing at /subscribe/ collects your email address through our embedded Brevo (Sendinblue) sign-up form, stored by Brevo on our behalf. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
Site analyticsLike most websites, we use Google Analytics to see which pages are useful and how visitors find the site — aggregated usage data only, never linked to a surrender or adoption enquiry.

How we handle it

How your information is used

Only to assess and respond to your adoption or surrender enquiry, and to help the rescue team make safe placement decisions. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use surrender or adoption details for marketing.

Who we share it with

Form submissions are processed using Google Forms/Google Workspace (Apps Script) and, for email sign-ups, Brevo — both acting as data processors on our behalf. We do not share your details with unrelated third parties.

Your rights

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — see the contact details below. We will action reasonable requests as quickly as we can.
